The mission of America's Junior Miss (AJM) is to empower outstanding high school women by providing scholarship opportunities, developing life skills, and encouraging positive values; and to impact the lives of all young people through the Be Your Best Self outreach program.
The competition is besed on five categories: Scholastic, Talent, Fitness, Interview, and Self Expression.

This year 25 high school junior girls from across Georgia have been selected through their local program to participate Georgia State competition in August.

Gwinnettians win awards in pageant

Georgia’s Junior Miss scholarship program held an at-large competition in Suwanee last month for those who reside in areas of Georgia that do not currently conduct a local program. Jessica Martini of Lawrenceville was selected as Gwinnett County’s Junior Miss, and Qingyuan “Sunny” Yue of Lilburn was selected as Stone Mountain’s Junior Miss.
SUWANEE - Georgia's Junior Miss scholarship program held an at-large competition last month in Suwanee for interested participants who reside in areas of Georgia that do not currently conduct a local program.
Jessica Martini of Lawrenceville was selected as Gwinnett County's Junior Miss. The daughter of Barry and Teena Martini, Jessica is in the 11th grade at Brookwood High. For her talent presentation, she performed a clarinet solo, "Fancy Passing," by Andre Previn.
Qingyuan "Sunny" Yue of Lilburn was selected as Stone Mountain's Junior Miss. The daughter of Xin Yue, Sunny is in the 11th grade at Parkview High. For her talent presentation, she performed Felix Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E Minor."
The young women receiving at-large awards are eligible to participate in Georgia's Junior Miss state program in July. The winners of the state program will travel to Mobile, Ala., to participate in the America's Junior Miss National Finals, where they will have an opportunity to win the title of America's Junior Miss, a share of $150,000 in cash scholarships, and college scholarships to more than 200 colleges and universities across the nation.
