Test season is here! Are you ready for the SAT, ACT, TOEFL or GRE? I will make sure you are!
For advanced sophomores and juniors in high school and college, the
general rule for all standardized admissions tests: test early, test
often. The best strategy, no matter how many times you take the exams,
is to prepare thoroughly. People often ask how they can understand the
seemingly arbitrary way the test-makers write their questions and select
the "best" answer. The trick is to review the necessary skills -
especially in math and grammar, practice thoroughly, and learn a few
tricks of the trade.
I have four years experience teaching test prep for the SAT, GRE, ACT,
and TOEFL exams. I have taught and developed curriculum for both verbal
and quantitative preparation. Students have improved their scores by
over 300 points. The test preparation industry average is only a
30-point increase.
If you need to raise your scores - or have never taken it before - I am
here to help. I am an experienced tutor offering one-on-one, or small
group, lessons specifically targeted at improving your score in as
little time as possible.
My program includes:
1. Test taking tips to make the most of the time allotted and timed
practice designed to make the actual exam seem easier and more relaxed
2. Strategies for getting the most answers correct in the least amount of time, leaving the remainder for the harder problems
3. Approaches to writing and analyzing writing to yield the correct answer and a reliably high score
4. Frequent timed practice tests and assignments to improve time and stress management skills
My time as a researcher at Georgia Tech has taught me the ins and outs
of formal and high speed writing, analytical reading and quantitative
analysis. I eagerly anticipate sharing my experiences and understanding
with you!
Evening and weekend classes are available and contract or hourly rates
are negotiable based on the number of hours desired. Small group rates
are also available.
