Our heartfelt congratulations goes to Austin Wang, who has been named the 2015 Presidential Scholar from Georgia. Austin was chosen as one of 141 Scholars across the country and will visit Washington D.C., where he will meet President Barack Obama or First Lady Michelle Obama.
As valedictorian of Walton High School, Austin graduated with a GPA of 4.75, scoring perfectly on his SATs and winning national Greek and Latin exams. Not only is he a scholar, he's a leader outside the classroom. He's president of Latin Club, and at Walton, started three other clubs: Inquire, Cultural Film Club, and Business Club.
Austin is also heavily involved in community service, leading a book drive of over 5,000 books and receiving the President's Gold Volunteer Award. Austin is also one of 150 scholars chosen out of over 100,000 applicants for the $20,000 Coca-Cola Scholars. In his spare time, Austin is an accomplished violinist and electric guitarist.
We've had the pleasure of working with Austin on his college/senior year materials as well as SATs. Austin plans to attend Yale University next year.
This year, seniors like Austin from our College Educational Consulting service have received acceptances to 5 out of 8 Ivies, GT, UChicago, Duke, Vanderbilt, Emory, and more. Following our successful College Apps Seminar last month, we are offering a second seminar for students and parents who are interested.
What's new in this seminar is an expert panel of three different individuals: Andy Zhang will discuss more college application secrets and scholarship information. Austin Wang will share his application experience with students. A former interviewer from Pomona College will discuss interview strategies and small liberal arts schools. We will also briefly recap our first seminar, helpful for students and parents who were absent.
All students, parents, and friends welcome. Feel free to forward this invitation.
More info next week about the speakers!
